Our Biometric Lock (Fingerprint lock), Digital lock and RF Smart card locks also come in a combination of these features, Function combinations of biometric locks, fingerprint locks, digital locks and RF smart card locks are detailed throughout this website. In order to protect the function and warranty of your electronic Keyless Access electronic door locks please read the following carefully.

Freight Charges

Free Shipping is supplied on all new electronic locks, fingerprint locks, biometric locks, digitla locks and keyless locks within Australia. Offer is limited to standard delivery within Australia. Entire order must be shipped to a single address. May not apply to prior purchases, Wholesale/Trade orders or open orders and cannot be combined with any other offer. Customer is responsible for shipping costs on returned merchandise. Promotion may be modified or terminated at any time. Certain restrictions may apply.

Claims and Returns

All claims for damages and shortages of products including fingerprint locks, electronic locks, biometric locks digital locks, keyless locks and keyless access prodcuts must be reported to KA Security in writing within 5 days after delivery. Returned goods will not be accepted without written authorisation. All items will be subject to inspection. All items must be be returned in original condition and packaging. All returned goods must be shipped freight prepaid.

Turnaround Times

Standard electronic locks, biometeric locks, fingerprint locks, keyless locks and keyless access products are shipped within 3 business days of order and customised electronic locks, finger print locks, biometeric locks and keyless lock products are shipped within 4 business days of order. "Priority Service and Postage" will be shipped out same business day of order received in time for postage, or by the latest the following business day.

12 Month Warranty

KA Security will provide a complete 12 month product replacement. This warranty is extended only to the original purchaser of the unit under warranty and is valid only when bought through an authorized Keyless Acess Security retailer.

Exclusions

The above warranty applies as long as damage is not caused by an accident, abuse, misuse, fire, insects, use of abrasive products, water or force majeure or an act of God. Transport, handling or installation damages are also excluded. PLEASE NOTE: These electronic locks are not designed to withstand direct water penetration as could be inflicted by Rain or a Hose. Please be extremely carefull when hosing down around your electronic door locks, fingerprint door locks and keyless door locks as water penetration will cause damage to the electronic circuitry. These keyless access locks are designed to be powered only by alkaline batteries and batteries or voltage other than 4 x AA Alkaline Batteries will void your warranty.

Procedure

Any defect involving the manufacturer's liability shall be reported to KA Security within ten (10) days of its occurrence. Locks claimed to be defective shall be held until inspected by an authorised representative of KA Security, and upon their specific instructions, locks found to be defective will be repaired and replaced by KA Security. The liability of KA Security with respect to the sale of this lock shall be limited to repair or replacement by a similar product as provided above and does not include any cost of removal, reinstallation, transport of defective product, loss of time, salary or any other expenses (including the alternative security arrangements for securing your doors) as well as any consequential damages of any kind. KA Security and its representatives shall not be held liable for any injury, loss, cost or other damage, whether consequential or incidental, that arise from any defect covered under this limited warranty, even if KA Security has been advised of the possibility of such damage.

Limitations

This 12 month warranty replaces all other warranties, expressed or implied, in face or at law, including implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. The terms of this warranty cannot be modified or extended in any way whatsoever by any agent, dealer, distributor, service company or other party other than KA Security.

Insurance

Insured parcels will be replaced with the exact product in a reasonable amount of time. Although KA Security takes all necessary precautions to ensure your freight arrives in perfect condition we do not take liability for third party transport.

Legal Rights

This warranty gives specific legal rights and is not applicable if it interferes with any law or regulation in any state, province or country.

Modifications

KA Security reserves the right to change, without notice, the models, the specifications and the price of its products; including electronic door locks, fingerprint door locks, biometeric locks and other keyless access products.

Limitation of Liability

Our Limitation of Liability, under all circumstances, including, but not limited to, negligence, for the directors and/or staff of KA Security, shall be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages, including, but not limited to, alternative security arrangements, loss or damages to equipment or profit, arising out of the use, or the inability to use, the products sold by this company, even if KA Security or authorised representatives or re-sellers of our products, have been advised of the possibility of such damages. If your use of materials from this site results in the need for servicing, repair or correction of equipment or data, you assume any costs thereof.

‘User Instructions’ for your Fingerprint and Keyless Access Door Locks

(For a short summary of this information please refer to your ‘Quick User Guide’

To Open the Door Lock

To open the door from the inside - simply rotate the handle downwards.
To open the door from the outside, for:
Digital Keypad Locks - Press your programmed Digital ID followed by the ‘#’ key.
E - Smart Card Locks - Position your E-Smart Card in close proximity to the lock Function reader.
Fingerprint Pro Locks - Place your finger on the finger sensor and hold it square and still until you hear the confirmation tone (this takes approximately 2 seconds). Alternatively you can use your E-Smart Cards.
- After you have heard the ID confirmation tone – simply open the door by rotating the door handle downwards.

To Lock the Door

The door will always lock with the primary door latch when you pull the door closed. (This is achieved with the upper 3 latches).
In addition to locking the door with the primary door latch, a feature of our KA Security locks is that you have an additional ‘Extra Strength Security Latch’ (which is the large single lower latch). This latch is engaged by rotating either handle fully upwards, after closing the door.

Features of our Keyless Access Door Locks

When you close your door, it will always automatically lock with the upper latches.
Our keyless door locks have a ‘Door warning alarm’ feature, that will signal when the door is not completely closed and locked. If you don’t hear the warning tone after closing your door, you can walk away with confidence that your door is properly closed and locked.
The primary security feature of our keyless doors locks is the ‘Extra Strength Security Latch’, which is the large lower latch. This extra strength latch is activated (from either side of the door) by rotating either one of the handles upwards. To open from the inside simply open the door in the normal way. To open the door from the outside, activate your User ID in the normal way and then simply rotate the handle downwards. Both Latches will open together.
Our Locks are Anti-Bump and Anti-Key copy.

To Remove the Battery Cover

The Programming Tool (see picture to the right) is attached to your mechanical key ring.
Insert and HOLD the Programming Tool into the hole (third dot from the left at the top of the Battery cover) while gently sliding the cover upwards.
To replace the cover after programming gently slide the cover downwards back into position.

Battery Replacement

The batteries will need replacing after you hear the 'Battery Low Warning Tone', or if your indicator lights become abnormally dim.
When you do replace your batteries you must replace all of them together with 4 new good quality 'AA' Alkaline Batteries only. (Note: Using non-Alkaline batteries will void your warranty).
Your lock will continue to work for approximately 20 entries after you first hear the 'Low Battery Warning Tone'.
There are two 9 volt battery connections on the Function panels for the Digital locks (EF Function Pro available soon) in case the normal batteries are fully discharged and you wish to open your lock using your digital code. The 9 volt battery can be used to power the lock while you insert your user ID until normal battery replacement occurs. This is done by joining the 2 terminals on the 9V Battery with the 2 terminals on the Function panel.
Your Lock will not lose the memory of your User ID’s with a flat battery or with the batteries removed. (This means you will not have to re-program your User ID’s when you change your battery)

.Programming Instructions

After removing the battery cover on the back of the lock, you will find the 3 inset programming buttons on the Programming Panel.

'A' stands for ‘Add’, which is used to Add new User ID’s
'B' is reserved for more advanced features on different locks
'C' stands for ‘Cancel’ which is used to cancel all User ID’s and to initialise (or factory reset) your lock.

To Add New User ID’s - General Information:

Insert and release the Programming Tool onto the 'A' button. You will hear a single 'short tone' and the green light will flash while your Lock remains in the ‘ADD’ programming mode.
If no further inputs are received within 6 seconds the lock will exit programming mode, indicated by the light extinguishing. If this happens to you before you have finished programming all your User ID’s, then simply press the ‘A’ button again and continue programming your lock. (All previously entered User ID’s will still remain in the lock memory).
Lock Audio/Visual indications for the ADD programming mode:
For a successful User ID entry into the lock memory - you will hear a ‘multiple tone’ and continue to see the green light.
For an unsuccessful User ID entry into your lock memory - you will hear ‘two short tones' and the red light will flash. In this case please try again.

To Add New User ID’s - Specific Lock Function Information

Please refer to the General Information above before referring to your specific type of lock as follows:

For Digital Keypad Locks:

Remove the Battery Cover
Press the ‘A’ programming button with the Programming Tool.
Enter your single User ID (of between 6 to 10 digits) followed by the # key.
Immediately repeat the same number as above again followed by the # key. (ie the User ID number needs to be entered twice)
Replace the Battery Cover.

For E-Smart Card Locks:

Remove the Battery Cover
Press the ’A’ programming button with the Programming Tool.
Position all your E-Smart Cards, one by one, in close proximity to the Function reader until you hear the programming confirmation tone after each placement.

For Fingerprint Pro Locks:

Remove the Battery Cover
Press the ‘A’ button with the Programming Tool.
Place your finger squarely onto the Fingerprint reader and hold still until you hear the tone. You then need to repeat the SAME finger a second time, and then listen for the memory acceptance confirmation tone. If you do not get the confirmation tone, you may have moved your finger or placed it differently onto the reader – Please try again.
It is a great idea for each user to program more than one finger into the memory, in case you develop a cut on your finger. You can program as many of your fingers and/or thumb as you like.
After you have programmed your fingerprints then you can proceed with the E-Smart Cards that you would like programmed by following the steps as for E-Smart cards above.

Notes for Finger Print Users:

Caution: For Fingerprint Locks you MUST program at least one Fingerprint ID into your Lock or else the Lock will read any and ALL random Fingerprints! That is, you can’t just program your E-Smart Cards without at least one Fingerprint ID installed in the memory or the lock will open with any Fingerprint. (This is the Lock Demo setting).
Fingerprint readers are more sensitive in very humid conditions or if your fingers are very sweaty. In this case, please dry the excess moisture off your hands before using your Fingerprint reader for both programming and general use.
During programming, if you hear two (2) 'Short Tones' (and a 'red' flashing light) - then that particular Fingerprint ID was not accepted, so please re-try that Fingerprint. (This may occur if you did not hold your finger still enough for the full 2 seconds and/or you held your finger differently between the 2 image reads).

To Cancel All User ID’s and Initialisation (Factory reset)

Remove the Battery cover
Press and HOLD the 'C' Button until you hear both the first and second 'Short Tone'. The 'Red' Light will be constant until the 2nd Tone is heard and will then Flash Red (This takes about 6 seconds)
After you release the Button (after the 2nd Tone is heard), the Flashing Red light indicates that the 'User ID' memory has been cleared.
After Initialisation has finished, you will hear 'Quick Multiple Tones', followed by a 'Rising Tone' to confirm that the Lock is now fully 'Factory reset' and again ready for re-Programming.
- Caution: In this Initialisation (factory reset) mode, none of your E-Smart Cards will work and any and ALL random Finger Prints will open your Door. Therefore you MUST program at least one safe User ID Fingerprint into your memory to prevent unwanted access to your premises.

Battery Low – Emergency Power up (9V Battery)

Note: You will not lose the program memory for your installed User ID’s when you change your battery.

This allows you to power up your function using an external 9V Battery.
This applies only to the Digital and Digital Plus Function locks. (The EF – Fingerprint Pro will soon have this feature available as well).
Press and hold the terminals of a 9V Battery (the rectangular battery) onto the 2 small terminals on the outside of the lock on the Function reader.
While powering the lock with the 9V battery you can access your usual User ID’s and open the lock.
Note: Batteries should be replaced as soon as you hear the ‘low battery warning tone’

Mechanical Key - To open door using your mechanical Key.

All locks are supplied with a back up mechanical cylinder and 2 spare keys.
This applies to all locks and is an emergency backup feature available for all our locks.
The Mechanical Key can be used should the reader fail, batteries fail and/or the battery ‘Emergency Power up’ is not available.
Use the KAPS (Key Access Panel Suction cap) found on your key ring to remove the Panel concealing your Mechanical Cylinder.
Simply insert and rotate one of the back up Mechanical Keys into the mechanical cylinder (the old fashioned way)
Push your door open.
